Sunday lunch in most Odia households would invariably include Mutton curry (or 'Mangsha Jhola'), that's pretty much an unwritten rule! Characterised by the liberal use of mustard oil and the spices, the typical Odia Mutton curry (or 'Mangsha Jhola') although may seem like the generic mutton curry cooked elsewhere in India but it tastes distinctly different because of the subtle variations in the preparation method as well as in the masalas used, resulting in a rich and sublime, semi-thick gravy. Among other things, the use of potatoes (cut into halves) in the curry is another striking difference.
