India has, undeniably, an insatiable appetite for food shows on TV, no matter whether one is a cooking aficionado or someone who has never set foot in the kitchen. From travelogues about exploring different cuisines and eating to food shows featuring gourmet chefs who rustle up delectable dishes in no time, to reality food competition shows pitting participants against each other, they all strike a chord with most of us. However, given our hectic and fast-paced lives, it's not always possible to watch these shows on TV. Thankfully with the advent of Mobile TV apps like ZEE5, we are now able to watch our favourite TV food shows right on our smartphones, tablet, laptop or PC even while on-the-go!
I have curated 4 Food Shows streaming on ZEE5 that are truly worth watching with family:

Family Food Fight is an Australian cooking reality TV series that aims to find the nation's No.1 food family (i.e. the one with best home cooking skills in Australia). Six families with different traditions and cooking styles form the six teams, each consisting of four family members and they go head-to-head in high-pressure cooking challenges in the kitchen. They are judged by four eminent personalities from the food industry namely Matthew Moran (one of Australia's most beloved chef and restaurateur), Hayden Quinn (a Foodie adventurer), Anna Polyviou (renowned Pastry Chef) and Tom Parker Bowles (British food writer and food critic). Only one of them walks away victorious with the title of Australia's No.1 food family along with a cash prize of $100,000.
(a) it celebrates the importance of cooking together
(b) the show is suitable for all age groups. Be a 5-year-old or a 75-year-old, everyone will surely enjoy watching the show
(c) at its core lie delectable family recipes that have been passed down through the generations
(d) unlike many other food competition reality shows, the four judges of Family Food Fight Australia aren't witheringly harsh or inconsiderate. Instead, they offer constructive criticism and their honest feedback to help the participating families improve.

In this American TV series, healthy foods expert Chef Danny Boome takes the viewers on a culinary adventure while he explores the streets of America seeking the country's best health-oriented restaurants and eateries. The food show turns the spotlight on health as Chef Danny visits the kitchens of America’s best organic, healthy and wholesome restaurants that serve amazingly delicious food using just a few fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Thus the idea is to demonstrate to America that one can find good, healthy food at every corner of the country.

Hosted by celebrity chef and restaurateur Jet Tila, Chasing The Yum is an interesting American food series that explores some of the tastiest classic as well as modern-day Asian dishes. Season 1 of the show comprises of 26 episodes, with each episode dedicated to a particular Asian cuisine like Thai or Japanese or Indian or Chinese or Vietnamese or Singaporean cuisine.
In each episode, chef Jet Tila is seen visiting a popular Asian restaurant in America and going into their kitchen to observe the way the restaurant's culinary expert prepares a couple of popular Asian dishes, be it a curry or a soup or an appetizer or a salad. He then demonstrates the method to prepare the same two dishes to the viewers in his own kitchen, while also passing on a few interesting and helpful tips.

Built on the concept of "Can passion beat profession?", The Chef's Line is another cooking reality show, I am sure, most families will enjoy watching. Every week 4 passionate but amateur home cooks are pitted against the gourmet chefs of a popular Restaurant - competing against one Chef in each episode, starting with the apprentice chef and going up the hierarchy to the Head Chef. The prepared dishes are then judged by an impressive panel of food experts - Australia's renowned Indigenous Chef Mark Olive, executive chef Dan Hong and food writer Melissa Leong.
Featuring a different cuisine every week (ranging from Italian, Thai, Indian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, French, Mexican, Vietnamese, Greek and Spanish cuisine), The Chef's Line is truly a celebration of food and Australia's diverse tastes. Talented home cooks trying to out cook an entire Chef's line - doesn't it sound interesting?
I am sure the above list of food shows will appeal to all ages and will be thoroughly enjoyed by all the family members.
So watch together, cook together, eat together and enjoy together. Bon appétit!
